National Mental Health Awareness Celebration with Keynote Speaker Dior Vargas

This event was done in May of 2022. It has been the largest event with the smallest amount of resources as of yet. This event was planned with language accessibility in mind. The keynote can be found at the You Tube link below.

As a way of breaking down the stigma that disability is a death sentence and cuts vibrancy off – this event was born. Artists with disabilities discuss what is it like to be an artist with a disability and how disability enhances the work they do. Video recording of event linked in the photo below.

Representation of people with disabilities is one of my passion subjects within disability rights. As a person with a disability studying theatre it felt only right to begin researching this subject.
